What is the 4th most populated city in the U.S.?

As you may have caught within the past few weeks, the U.S. Census recently released its estimates of what areas of the U.S. have seen the largest population growth.  Of course, this included city size estimates.  So, from Pocket Trivia: US History:  What is the 4th most populated city in the U.S.?  Is it Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia or Chicago?  The answer after the jump:

The correct answer is Houston.  Check out the top ten below:

1)  New York (8,391,881)
2)  Los Angeles (3,831,868)
3)  Chicago (2,851,268)
4)  Houston (2,257,926)
5)  Phoenix (1,593,659)
6)  Philadelphia (1,547,297)
7)  San Antonio (1,373,668)
8)  San Diego (1,306,300)
9)  Dallas (1,299,542)
10)  San Jose (964,695)

As you can see, only two of those cities are considered "eastern" - the rest are either in the mid-west, south or west.  Phoenix recently passed Philadelphia as well to claim the #5 spot.

Interesting random fact: Houston is the largest city in America with an openly gay Mayor.
